Dr. Amir working as an Assistant Professor in S.S.L.D. Varshney Institute of Management & Engineering, Aligarh. He has completed his Doctorate in Botany from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (India). He did his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in the year 2012 and 2014, respectively. He has received Prof. M. Mashkoor Alam Memorial Gold Medal in M.Sc. (2014). He has also completed one-month training program on Molecular Technique (Isolation of DNA from plants and microorganisms, Isolation and culture of fungi and bacteria, Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, RAPD, PCR, Southern Blotting, Southern Hybridization, Isolation of protein, etc.) at IBRC Agra. He is an editor of the Journal of Ecology & Natural Resources. As a young researcher during his initial research work, he has published various papers in the national and international prestigious journals. He also attended various national and international conferences, seminars and symposia related to his research work. Nowadays, organic farming has been an important area in sustainable agriculture without any toxic effect on the environment, fauna and flora. His current research efforts to identify new bio-pesticides from plants and biocontrol agents to manage root-knot nematodes. His research work was also engaged in the eco-friendly management of parasitic action root-knot nematodes, Meloidogyne spp. using botanicals and biocontrol based bio-pesticides. Besides, thrust area of Dr. Amir and his group to promote organic farming by utilizing organic matter (plant parts, oil cakes, agricultural waste etc.), bioOBJECTIVES PERSONAL fertilizer and biocontrol agents for the sustainable management of root-knot nematodes as well as enrich the soil with nutrients necessary for plant growth and development. As a young researcher, he is very dedicated to the research area and very interested to make career in the research/teaching field.
