Biography

Dr. Arindam Laha is currently working as Assistant Professor at Department of Commerce, University of Burdwan, West Bengal, India. He has completed his Ph.D. in Economics from same University. His areas of research interest include Agrarian Institutions, Agricultural Finance, Agricultural Price Volatility, Financial Inclusion, Microfinance, Entrepreneurial finance, Human Development, and Commodity Derivative Market. He is member of Indian Society of Agricultural Economics, Mumbai, Board of Research Studies, Board of Post-graduate Studies and member of Undergraduate Board of Studies at University of Burdwan. Dr. Arindam received honors includes awarded certificate for securing first class first position in the Economics (Hons.) at Burdwan Raj College, and University Gold Medal, 2003, for securing first class first position in the M.Sc (Economics) at The University of Burdwan. He is also serving as member of editorial board and reviewer for many journals. He has written three books and has published 40 research articles in internationally reputed journals. He is now actively engaged in executing research projects of various funding agencies, UGC and ICSSR. He has also co-authored chapter in India’s Rural Development Report (Govt. of India) and District Human Development Report (UNDP and Govt. of West Bengal).
