Biography

Dr. Dhiraj Sharma is an academician, researcher, and writer, currently serving at Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab. He remained Adjunct Faculty under the alliance with an American University for five years (2010-15). In 2017, he was given additional charge of Joint Director of the Centre for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, which became non-functional due to lack of funding and grants.

With a distinguished academic background, he holds three postgraduate degrees in Finance, Commerce, and Business Administration and has earned a doctorate specializing in Banking and Technology. As a post-doctoral research, his Major Research Project (2012-15) got approved and funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India.

A dedicated research supervisor, Dr. Sharma has successfully guided over 25 PhD scholars (as on Dec 2024), with six more currently under his mentorship. He is the author of Fourteen books and has published over a Hundred research papers, fiction and non-fiction articles, and book chapters. Several of his books serve as essential texts and references in undergraduate and postgraduate programs across Indian universities. He has also developed academic content for esteemed institutions, including All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi; Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM), Mumbai; Bangalore University, Bengaluru; and Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Dr. Sharma has served as the Managing Editor of a refereed national research journal for over five years and is currently the Chief Editor of an international journal. He also contributes as a reviewer for several national and international journals. His active participation in academia includes serving as an organizing member, session chair, discussant at numerous seminars, conferences, Faculty Development Programs, and workshops in India and abroad. Notably, he played a key role in organizing the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) in December 2011, an initiative by the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India.

With 27 years of professional experience, Dr. Sharma remains deeply committed to academic writing, teaching, and research. Beyond academia, he passionately explores creative writing in fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. An avid birder, nature and wildlife photographer, and a painter, he specializes in realistic and semi-impressionist art. His dedication to environmental conservation extends to active participation in government and NGO-led initiatives focused on birding, butterfly monitoring, and habitat preservation.

With his diverse expertise spanning research, education, and the arts, Dr. Sharma brings a unique and insightful perspective to his writing, making him a compelling voice in both academic and creative domains.
