Dr. Kuntal Das (Ph.D., FICS, FAELS, FIC), Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy, Bangalore, is a dynamic, hard-working, enthusiastic professional and responsible person in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences, especially in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry. He has proven leadership abilities in working as a team, handling multiple tasks, great adaptability to any enterprise's environment.
He is having a total 16 years of Teaching & Research Experience. He is specialized in the area of cultivation and Standardization of Medicinal plants, Tissue culture of endangered plants, Pharmacological activities of plant extracts, Formulation, and clinical investigation of plant products. He is active B. Pharm and M. Pharm Examiner, Ph.D. guide with thesis valuator, Paper setter for B.Pharm and M.Pharm, valuator, project evaluator for various universities. Currently, he is a BOS (UG) member at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
Awards and acclaims: His carrier reflected with various prestigious awards and acclaims in many scientific forums. He is the recipient of Pharmacy teacher of the year-2018 by APTI (Karnataka Branch), Fellow of Indian Chemical Society-2018, Fellow of Academy for Environment and Life Sciences- 2018, Best Scientist award-2018, Fellow of Institution of Chemist, India-2017, Award for Research papers by VGST, Govt. of Karnataka-2017, Best faculty award-2017, Best scientist award-2016, Best young Pharmacy teacher award-2016, Best oral Paper Awards- 2015, Mr. Manas Tripathi Memorial Award for outstanding oral presentation-2015, Best Poster award-2005, 2nd Prize award-2004. He has delivered lectures as invited speakers in various scientific sessions in many national and international conferences.
Research activity: He is having 13 years of research experience. He has guided 19 Master students. He has a research collaboration with many countries, went to Romania, Austria, Netherland, Belgium, and Thailand for collaborative research and received traveling expenses from DST, India. He has completed two research projects from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences of Rs. 4 Lakhs respectively on plant tissue culture. Two research projects from VGST, Govt. of Karnataka (of Rs. 10 Lakhs), and DST, New Delhi (of Rs.61 Lakhs) are awaited.
Paper presentation: He has presented more than 25 research papers in various national and international seminars, conferences, and symposia and organized 4 workshops and conferences. He has delivered more than 10 guest lectures in various places in India.
Publications: He has 89 scientific publications in various peer-reviewed national and international journals of repute with a cumulative impact factor of 34.24. He has contributed 7 book chapters and 9 textbooks in his expertise area among them recently published Remedial Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Pharmacognosy-I for I, II, III, and IV semester B.Pharm students respectively as per new PCI semester syllabus.
Special recognitions: He has appointed master and Ph.D. thesis evaluator and examiner for Lincoln University College, Malaysia, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana. He holds an active post as a BOS member for UG and research grant monitoring committee member at Rajiv Gandhi University, a Ph.D. committee member at Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore. He is a PCI inspector, NAAC coordinator, and certified ISO internal auditor.
Editors and reviewers: He is serving as editorial board and reviewer committee member for more than 18 peer-reviewed and national and international journals and reviewed more than 120 research papers.
