Biography

I assumed office in Swamy Vivekanandha College of Pharmacy and Medical Research Institute as Professor of Pharmacology and Director of Research since November 2008. I am coordinating the research in the college and also handling Pharmacognosy Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology to PG and UG medical students.

Within the last five years, 4 years prior to this intuition I was in the Centre for advanced research in Indian System of Medicine (CARISM) SASTRA University as Assistant Professor of Pharmacy, Director of drug testing laboratory, JRF, and SRF.

During that period, I was looking after all the consultancy projects concerned with the safety and efficacy of herbal drugs and also the toxicological studies. Whatever instrumental and industry project undertook by the center, I have completed successfully as a co-investigator particularly on Leucoderma, Arthritis, and Coronary Heart disease sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and M/s. Orchid Fine Pharmaceuticals, Chennai.

I have undergone short term training courses on GLP Up-keep of the animal house organized by DST, first winter school on nanotechnology organized by NIPER; FTIR training organized by Perkin Elmer Mumbai, HPLC training in Orchid Pharmaceutical and fine chemicals Chennai and LC-MS-MS at Waters Bangalore.

I have published 47 research articles in national and international referred journals. I was the co-author of a textbook in Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics published by New Academic Publishers, New Delhi.

I got a Fellow of the Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists (FABMS) and External Examiner and question paper setter in various Universities. Peer Reviewer in National and International Journals.

I got Best Paper Award on ISO induced Myocardial infarction of Terminalia arjuna Phytopharmaceuticals – in the Indian Scenario, AICTE sponsored program at Periyar College of pharmacy, Trichy, January 2007 and delivered 15 invited lectures in various seminars and conferences.

I have a taken patent PCT on Rheumatoid arthritis and applied one more on Leucoderma.

I have organized the national level of the 31st Annual Conference of IABMS in the capacity of organizing a secretary and national seminar on herbo-mineral preparations in the capacity of Joint secretary. During the course of the last five years, I have participated in 40 numbers of symposia and workshops. I have obtained on two occasions the best paper presentation awards Dr. Yellapragada Subba Rao Memorial Award for the best research paper. I have guided 46 M.Pharm, 16 MBBS theses, and 5 Ph.D. theses.
