Biography

I am currently working as Senior Research Associate (SRA) at University of Kashmir, Srinagar in a research project entitled “Ecological niche modelling as a tool for evaluating threat assessment and predicting distribution of various threatened species across Kashmir Himalaya”, awarded to me by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Prior to it, I as part of National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) worked as Research Associate at University of Kashmir, Srinagar and studied the long term climatic variability over Kashmir Himalaya. I was awarded Young Scientist Start up Research Grant, by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India for investigating the understory forage clover in apple orchards of Kashmir valley, India for its biomass and carbon sequestration potential. I was also awarded the Dr D.S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship by University Grants Commission, New Delhi wherein I studied the phyto-sociological attributes and soil carbon stocks of Kashmir Himalayan Grasslands.

I represented India at The BRICS Young Scientist Conclave hosted by Russia in 2020. I also won the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, sponsored AWSAR (Augmenting Writing Skills for Articulating Research) award, 2022 for my research story submitted under the postdoctoral category. I was also awarded National Young Scientist Award by the National Environmentalist Association, India, 2011.
