Dr. Razia Khanam holds a position of Associate Professor at Department of Pharmacology, Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE. She earned her PhD in Pharmacology from Jamia Hamdard (Hamdard University), New Delhi. Dr. Razia is having 15 years research and teaching experience. Previously she was appointed as Lecturer and Senior Assistant Professor at Faculty of Pharmacy Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. Her main area of research interest focuses on rodent behavioral testing (depression associated with diabetes, anxiety, memory, inflammation, epilepsy etc.) and neurotransmitter estimations in rodents and she is involve in studying depression and its association with other diseases like diabetes, epilepsy, status of newer antidepressants on glucose homeostasis, diabetes-induced depression, oxidative stress and the augmentation and combination strategies in treating treatment-resistant depression. She has completed 2 research projects as principal investigator. Dr. Razia is also serving as reviewer for journals such as Psychoneuroendocrinology, Neuroscience Letters, Basic & Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Nutrition & Metabolism, Indian Journal of Experimental Biology, and Human and Experimental Therapeutics. Dr. Razia has published 47 research articles in journals, 1 book, and 24 abstracts contributed as author/co-author. She has supervised/co-supervised number of student’s thesis. She also participated in various national and international conferences.
