Dr. Omesh Bajpai is a naturalist, who is working on the Diversity, Phenology and Phytosociology of trees and their interaction with environment. He started his research profession at CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow, India and completed his doctorate (Ph. D.) degree from Centre of Advanced Study in Botany, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He also received M. Phil. degree from T.G.O. University, Nagaland, India. In present, he is working as N-PDF in Department of Environmental Science, School of Environmental Sciences, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, India. His area of interest includes Tree Diversity Assessment, Taxonomy, Tree Phenology, Forest Ecology, Phytosociology, Forestry and Phycology. He has over eight years research experience, during which he widely surveyed Himalayan Terai region and subtropical, temperate and alpine regions of the Himalaya and published more than 35 research articles in reputed national and international journals. He was a team member of first GLORIA (Global Observation Research Initiative in Alpine Ecosystem) establishment team of G.B. Pant Institute of Environment & Development. For his remarkable contribution in the field of plant taxonomy, The Association of Plant Taxonomy, Dehradun awarded him the prestigious “Fellow of the Association of Plant Taxonomy” award. He is the founder President of ‘Society for Tropical Plant Research’; life member of ‘Association of Plant Taxonomy’, ‘Rajiv Gandhi International Science and Technology Association’, ‘Society for Science of Climate Change and Sustainable Environment’, ‘National Environmental Science Academy’ and ‘International Society of Environmental Botanist’ since a long time. He is the managing editor in ‘Tropical Plant Research’; editor in ‘International Journal of Applied Research’, ‘Archives of Agriculture and Environmental Science’, and reviewer of several national and international reputed journals.
