Biography

Dr. Amit Kumar Verma is holding a faculty position as Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Modipuram, Meerut, India. He completed his Ph.D. degree from Uttar Pradesh Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidhyalaya Evam GoAnusandhan Sansthan (DUVASU), Mathura, India. He has also received Post Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics from Bioinformatics Institute of India; and Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning, India. His research focused on several issues including epidemiology and surveillance of veterinary and another zoonotic pathogen. As a member of the Advisory Committee, he has completed dissertation 21 PG and Ph.D. Students on various aspects of FMD, brucellosis, salmonellosis, colibacillosis and other animal pathogens and guided 06 students. He also participated in the number of conferences and workshops and performed presentations. He has published 34 research articles in international journals, 31 research papers in Indian science journals, 03 book chapters, 08 invited/ expert lectures/ lead papers, 88 papers presented and published abstracts in national symposia/ seminars/ workshop/ conferences contributed as author/co-author. His current area of research interest focuses on studies on the epidemiology of Foot-and-mouth disease, IBR, Campylobacteriosis, MRSA, brucellosis, IBR, canine parvovirus, and mycoplasma, the emergence of antimicrobial drug resistance. He has the honor of being editor/ associate editor/member of the editorial board of many national and international journal of reputes along with reviewer of more than 10 national and international peer-reviewed journals. He has been awarded excellence in teaching award, best research paper award, best oral presentation award, best review paper award in various seminars and conferences.
