Dr. Amit Kumar Banerjee is having more than 15 years of experience in conducting scientific research and scientific writing including project planning, executing, medical writing, team management, publishing, biomedical research data analysis, and clinical research. He completed his doctoral degree from CSIR-IndianInstitute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, India and is having extensive research experience in Government and corporate setups as a senior researcher. He is associated as a researcher, scientific writer, editor, and reviewer to different organizations, publishers and several journals of national and international repute in various capacities.
His research areas include computational biology, system biology, application of machine learning techniques and biological “BIG DATA”, bioinformatics analyses of vector borne diseases, NGS data analysis, sequence analysis, microRNA, comparative genomics, small RNA predictions, phylogeny, molecular modeling, and clinical data analysis and medical writing.
He has been awarded by several leading international organizations and societies including Marquis Who’s Who, USA; Applied Zoologist Research Association, India; American Biographical Institute, USA; International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, UK for his scientific contributions in employing computational approaches to understand vector borne diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya and other diseases and implementation of intelligent techniques in classification of biological data.
His academic credentials include B.Sc. (honors) in Human Physiology followed by M.Sc., and M.Phil. in Biotechnology and Ph.D. in computational biology (Zoology). Apart from this, he holds a PG diploma in Patent Laws, Advanced Diploma in Bioinformaticsand national level Advanced Course in Bioinformatics (jointly conducted by CDAC, CSIR-IICT and JNTU-H).
He has published 80+ scientific articles in reputed international and national journals published by most of the leading publishers including Elsevier, Wolter-Kluwers, Springer, Bentham Science, John-Wiley, and others till now. His publications also appeared in many national and international conferences. He has written 7 book chapters till now. His contributions remained well recognized and cited by the fellow research community.
