Biography

Dr. Shashi Bhushan vemuri , formerly Senior Professor of Entomology at Prof Jayashankar Telangana state Agricultural University , Hyderabad, India .Dr Shashi bhushan vemuri specialized in food safety and food security issues, pesticide residues, insect toxicology and IPM. Worked as a Senior Professor and University Head of Entomology Prof Jayashankar Telangana state Agricultural University , Hyderabad, India has earned BS, MS and Ph.D degrees in Agriculture and Entomology, respectively, from the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (now Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University), Hyderabad, India, and had an advanced programme on Breeding for Insect Resistance at CIMMYT, Mexico and Post Doctoral fellowship in Entomology from the Michigan State University, USA. Dr. Shashi taught agricultural science courses at the undergraduate and graduate and Ph.D levels and advised graduate students pursuing research-based MS and Ph.D. degrees. His current research focuses on the development of sustainable agriculture, food safety, security and evaluation of new molecules against different crop pests at laboratory. He has more than thirty eight years of teaching, research experience evaluating pesticide residues in different food commodities at state level.

He is an Advisor (R & D ) for MNC NIHCINO INDIA and also Advisor Business Development of Food Hygiene Bureau, Caribbean. He is the Secretary General and Chief Technical Officer of an established voluntary organization, the Foundation for Agricultural Sustainability and Transformation (FAST) a not-for-profit organization for contributing to Nation building initiatives! Received various awards and Gold medals for outstanding research/ teaching and Extension from the University, Government and other organizations. Travelled number of countries to participate in more than 50 International Conferences He is well-published and serves as a reviewer for many book publishers, journals, institutions, and funding agencies.
