Biography

Dr. Parappurath Abdul Azeez is a Director at Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON). He obtained his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from same Institute. He is having 30 years working experience. His area of expertise includes Environmental Assessment, Environmental Management, Environmental Chemistry, Human Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Wetland Ecology. He is member of many committees such as Expert committee on Tirupur and Orathupalayam, appointed by the Honourable High Court, Chennai to advice on environmental issues arising from the industrial cluster of Tirupur and to propose management strategy member of Research Advisory Committee, Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal, Expert Committee formed by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India on Environmental Problems arising from Cell phones and communication towers, Expert Committee formed by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India, on Kolleru lake conservation, Expert Committee on Ecosystem Resilience, Planning Commission of India, New Delhi, and Board of studies in Environmental Sciences, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. He has published more than 91 research articles in journals contributed as author/co-author.
