Biography

Dr. Kaustubha Mohanty is currently working as Associate Professor at Department of Chemical Engineering Indian Institute of Technology, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from same Institute. His area of research focuses on Biological Wastewater Treatment (Biosorption, Biodegradation, Bioremediation), Advanced Separations Technology (Adsorption, Membrane Based Separations), Multiphase Reactors (Air-lift Reactors and Bioreactors), Bioseparation (Separation of Proteins and Antibodies), Biofuels (Bio-H2, Bio-Ethanol and Bio-Diesel), Pyrolysis of Biomass towards valued added products such as Bio-oil & Bio-chemicals, and Ionic Liquids (Applications in Separation of Pollutants & Bio-products). He has published 72 papers in referred journals, 6 chapter in book, 1 book reviewed, and 14 refereed proceedings contributed as author/co-author. He has supervised 5 PhD, 15 M.Tech, and 14 B.Tech. Currently he is supervising 11 PhD, 2 M.Tech and 3 B.Tech students. He successfully completed 6 projects funded by CSIR, DST, ONGC and DRDO. He is life member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, Eco-Ethics International Union, Germany, and member of Society of Chemical Industry, London, UK, Chemical Institute of Canada, and Canadian Society for Chemical Engineers. He is also serving as member of editorial board and reviewer for several journals. He also delivered many invited talks at different institutes and meetings. He also organized 6 events.
