Biography

Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal is currently working as Director/Associate Professor at School of Politics and International Relations, Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan. He has completed his PhD in International Relations from same University. His main area of interest focuses on International Politics & Security, Strategic Studies, Nuclear and Missile Proliferation & Non-Proliferation Regime, Biosecurity, Arms Control/Disarmament, Asymmetric Conflicts, Terrorism in Pakistan, CBRN Terrorism and Countermeasures, and Pakistan’s Domestic Politics-Civil-Military Relations, Foreign and Strategic Policy, Afghanistan in Post 2014. Dr. Zafar received honors includes Award of Research Project under Thematic Research Grant Program (Phase-III) from HEC, Norwegian Scholarship (NORAD), Kodikara Award 2001-2002, and Austrian Government Scholarship. Previously he was appointed as Research Associate, and Research Fellow Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad, Pakistan, and Research Fellow at Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), Islamabad, Pakistan. He has supervised 40 M.Phil, 6 MSc and 1 PhD student project. He has published 1 book, 59 research articles in journals, 24 book chapters, 7 monographs contributed as author/co-author. He also delivered 191 invited talks in workshops & conferences. He also served as Guest Speaker at prestigious Institutions such as NATO School, Oberammergau, Germany, NATO Defense College, Rome, Italy, and Center of Excellence, Defense against Terrorism, Ankara-Turkey.
