Biography

Dr. Afsar Khan obtained his M.Sc. degree (2002) from the University of Peshawar/Pakistan, and PhD (2009) on Isolation and Characterization of Plants’ Derived Natural Products from H. E. J. Research Institute of Chemistry, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi/Pakistan with Prof. Dr. Viqar Uddin Ahmad H.I., S.I.. After completion of Ph.D. studies, he started his independent research at the Department of Chemistry, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad, Pakistan. He is an Assistant Professor at the above department since 2009. Dr. Khan worked as a visiting researcher in the group of Prof. Dr. Peter Langer at UniversitÏt Rostock, Germany for three months. He also served as a Visiting Professor at State Key Lab of Phytochemistry and Plant Resources in West China, Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Kunming, China from June 2015-June 2016. Dr. Khan has over 60 scientific papers published. He has been serving as an Executive Member of The Chemical Society of Pakistan since 2010. Dr. Khan is the recipient of PCST research productivity awards for the years 2010-11, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
