Biography

I am a Geneticist and Plant Breeder. I obtained my Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India in 2019 . I work as a scientist in National Plant Breeding and Genetics Research Center, Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) Khumaltar, Lalitpur, Nepal. I am popular among farmers and peoples of Nepal for my innovative research and works. I was honoured as eLIFE ambassador 2018 from elife publishing, UK. I had received NDRI Research Paper Award (2010) and gold medal from ex. Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand (Nepal, 2003). I had also been awarded with silver medal by Vice chairman of National Planning Commission Dr. Shankar Sharma (Nepal, 2003). Similarly, I had achieved bronze medal by Junior Red Cross Society (2057 BS). I have published about more than three dozens of scientific and popular articles. I am author of most popular book BLACK RICE-RESEARCH, HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT published from SPRINGER (https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9783319301525). I born in Godaita-5, Ramban, Sarlahi, Nepal in 1985 and got primary education from the birth place. I obtained secondary education from Shree Chakra Janta Shahid Ganga Higher Secondary School, Barhathawa, Sarlahi and higher secondary education from Galaxy Public School, Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal. I did B. Sc. Agriculture (2006-2010) and Master of Agriculture in Plant Breeding (2011-2013) from Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, Tribhuvan University, Rampur, Chitwan, Nepal.
