Biography

Dr. Arman Zargaran is currently working as Manager and Head at Research Office for the History of Persian Medicine, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz, Iran. He has completed his PhD in Traditional Pharmacy from same University. Dr. Arman received honors includes Top Student for Cultural Activities, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz, Iran, Poster presentation award, Top Student of Iran (PhD degree), awarded by president of I.R. Iran, Bursary awarded for participation and oral presentation in 21th World Congress of Neurology, Vienna, Winner of Tabari Festival, and Winner of Razi Festival awarded by president of I. R. Iran. He is member of International Society for the History of the Neurosciences, Research Committee, Deputy of Traditional Medicine, Ministry of Health, Medical Sciences Academy of I.R.I. He is also serving as Editor in Chief of Sadra Medical Sciences Journal, Deputy Editor in Chief of Research on History of Medicine, Deputy Editor in Chief of Traditional and Integrative Medicine, and member of editorial/advisory board Galen Medical Journal, Acta Medico Historica Adriatica, and Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology. He is also acting as reviewer for number of journals such as Pharmaceutical Biology, Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine, Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine, European Journal of Integrative Medicine, and African Journal of Microbiology Research, Iranian Red Crescent Medical Journal, Galen Medical Journal, Acta Medico Historica Adriatica, African Journal of Biotechnology, and European Journal of Medicinal Plants. His main area of research interest focuses on Traditional Pharmacy (Phyto-pharmaceuticals) Natural Product, Pharmacognosy, and History of Medicine. Dr. Arman has published 82 research articles in journals as well as 6 chapters in book, and 22 presentations contributed as author/co-author.
