Dr. Alireza Naqinez is working as an Associate Professor of plant ecology at the University of Mazandaran, Iran. He completed his PhD in 2008 in Plant Ecology and Systematics at University Tehran, Iran. His main interests are vegetation classification and phytodiversity of forest, steppe and alpine wetlands of Iran. Moreover, his several MSc and PhD students thesis have been focused on elevational gradient of diversity in different mountainous systems of Iran. He published 82 Papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals. His prior work experience includes Assistant for collection and determination of Iranian plants for Central Herbarium of Tehran University, Supervisor and Advisor of 15 M.Sc. thesis, Head of Department of Biology and Head of Education office at University of Mazandaran. He is now a member of IAVS Global Sponsorship Committee (GSC) and European Dry Grassland Group (EDGG) and has participated in several meetings and expeditions carried out by IAVS and its subgroups. He hopes that he would be able to help IAVS to connect to the vegetation scientists of this part of the world and admire them to contribute effectively in the coming meetings and working groups of IAVS.
