Professor Saeed Olyaee was born in Mashhad, Iran, on 31 December 1974. He received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from University of Mazandaran, Babol, Iran, in 1997 and the M.Sc. and the Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering specializing in optoelectronics from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), Tehran, Iran, in 1999 and 2007, respectively. His doctoral dissertation concerned nanometric displacement measurement based on three-longitudinal-mode laser. He has established the Nano-photonics and Optoelectronics Research Laboratory (NORLab), in 2006 and currently, he is the head of NORLab and Director of the Presidential Office in Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University (SRTTU), Tehran, Iran. He has some other activities such as Vice-President for Research and Technology, Dean of Electrical and Computer Faculty, head of Power Engineering Department, and head of Control and Instrumentation Department. Prof. Olyaee presented and published more than 240 scientific conference and journal papers, books, and book chapters, such as Elsevier book chapter and currently he is Senior Member of IEEE, member of OSA, and Responsible Director and editorial board member of Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering Innovations (JECEI) and editorial member and scientific committee of several national and international journals and conferences. Prof. Olyaee's main research interests include laser displacement measurement, nano-metrology, optical instrumentation and photonic crystal fibers and sensors.
