Biography

BIOGRAPHIC SKETCH George Kroumpouzos, MD, PhD, FAAD is Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Providence, USA, and former Instructor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. He has a 25+ year experience in research, having served as Research Associate at the Dept of Dermatology, Free University of Berlin, Germany, National Cancer Institute, NIH and New York University. Dr. Kroumpouzos’ expertise is in the fields of obstetric/gynecologic dermatology, adverse drug reactions, connective tissue disease, and disorders of pigmentation. He has written and lectured extensively on these subjects. He has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and edited the Text Atlas of Obstetric Dermatology, Lippincot Williams & Wilkins Publishers (2013) that is also published in Spanish and Portuguese editions. He is currently an editorial board member in 5 peer-reviewed dermatologic journals, and has served as reviewer in numerous dermatologic journals over the past 15 years. He is a member in numerous national or international Committees. Dr. Kroumpouzos is the recipient of several scholarships and awards, including Awards by the International Union Against Cancer, New England Dermatologic Society, Teacher of the Year Award, and the Dean’s Award at Brown Medical School, USA.
