Biography

Dr. Sayavur I. Bakhtiyarov is currently working as Associate Professor (tenured) at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (Hispanic Serving Institution), Socorro, NM, USA. He has completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry, Baku and Institute of Thermophysics of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, and Sc. D. in Mechanical Engineering from Academy of Sciences, Baku and Birmingham University, UK. Previously he was appointed as Research/Teaching Assistant Institute of Thermophysics of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor, and Chair at Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Baku, Visiting Professor at East China University of Chemical Technology, Shanghai, China, and Auburn University, AL, DOD Permanent Coordinator for Interagency Nuclear Safety Review Panel (INSRP) and Chief Scientist (IPA) at DOD, HQ Air Force Safety Center/SES, Space Safety Division, Kirtland Air Force Base, NM. He supervise 27 MS students, 6 PhD and 47 undergraduate students projects. He is member of Asian Council of Science Editors, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Air Force Association, The British Society of Rheology, Russian Society of Rheology, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Foundry Society (AFS), The Society of Rheology of the American Institute of Physics, New York Academy of Sciences, and The American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology and International Journal of Mechanics and Solids and member of editorial board in the Journal of Space Safety Engineering, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, the Proceedings of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, International Journal of Recent Advances in Mechanical Engineering and many other. He is also member of ASME Fluid Engineering Technical Committee, AFS Magnesium Casting Division Committee, AFS Engineering Division Committee, ASME Fluid Applications and Systems Technical Committee and so on. He was invited as a moderator to chair the number of conference session. He has published 116 research articles in journals, 28 book and book chapters, 149 conference and symposium proceeding and 6 articles in magazine contributed as author/co-author. He also delivered 141 presentations in national and international conferences and symposium. He is also serving as reviewer for several journals. He also completed 19 research projects as principal investigator, co-investigator and project manager.
