Biography
Dr. Bing Chen is currently working as Leader & Principal Researcher, Northern Region Persistent Organic Pollution Control (NRPOP) Laboratory Associate Professor, Civil Engineering Chair, Environmental Systems Engineering & Management Board of Studies, Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science Memorial University of Newfoundland. He obtained his PhD in Environmental Engineering, from University of British Columbia, Canada. His experience include, worked as Research Assistant & Adjunct Professor at Beijing Peking University, China, Visiting Research Assistant at Environment Canada, Research Assistant & Sessional Lecturer at University of Regina, Regina Canada, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of British Columbia, Assistant Professor & Associate Professor at Memorial University. He is professional member of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador, Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Saskatchewan, Association for Environmental Health and Sciences (AEHS) Foundation, , Canadian Association on Water Quality, International Society for Environmental Information Sciences, Global Young Academy, Asian Young Scientists Association, Atlantic Canada Water & Wastewater Association (ACWWA)/American Water Works Association, , International Water Association, , Canadian Society for Civil Engineering, International Association of Hydrological Sciences, Environmental & Water Resources Institute/American Society of Civil Engineers. He is also serving as reviewer, and member of editor board in number of journals. He served as co-supervisor for more than 63 PhD, MSc, students thesis, and supervised 4 students. Currently he is supervising 5 PhD thesis and co-supervising 23 MSc, PhD thesis. He has published 78 articles in referred journals, 48 referred conference proceedings, 11 books/ book chapters/ thesis, 71 Refereed Conference Posters, 35 Technical Reports, 6 Disclosures and Patents, 42 invited talks. Dr. Bing Chen received number of honors include, 1st Award for Annual Student Competition, Award for Research Excellence, Terra Nova Young Innovator Award, Leaders Opportunity Fund Award, and Research Award.
