Biography

Dr. M. Ekrem Karpuzcu is currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Environmental Engineering, Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. He has completed his Ph.D. in Civil-Environmental Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles, USA. Dr. M. Ekrem received honors includes Best Poster Award from Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, First place graduation from Environmental Engineering, ITU, and Included in high honors list each semester at ITU. His main area of research interest focuses on Treatment Wetlands, Fate and transport of Emerging Organic Contaminants in the Environment, Agricultural Nonpoint Source Pollution, Photochemistry of Pesticides, Watershed Management, Natural Treatment Systems, and Water Quality Modeling. He is also serving as reviewer for Journal of Hazardous Materials, Ecological Engineering, and Critical Reviews in Biotechnology Environmental Science, Pollution Research Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology Environmental Engineering Science Environmental Technology. He has 6 publications in journals and 8 conference presentations contributed as author/co-author.
