Biography

Dr. Jiyoung Park is currently working as Associate Professor at University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. Before joining the current department in 2008, he was employed as a Post-Doctoral Scholar focusing on Economic impact analyses for the Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events (CREATE) at the University of Southern California (USC). He earned his Ph.D. in Planning in 2007 and M.A. in Economics, Seoul National University, Republic of Korea in 2003. He is also serving as Visiting Professor at Sungkyunkwan University. Dr. Jiyoung received number of honors includes exceptional Scholar Award, Young Investigator Award, The First IMPLAN Methods Competition Award, Professional Individual Development Award, Dean’s Junior Faculty Travel Award and so on. He has published 4 books, 8 book chapters, and 27 research articles in refereed journals 70 presentations contributed as author/co-author. He also worked on number of funded research projects as principal investigator and co-investigator. He is professional member of Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning, North American Regional Science Council, Western Regional Science Association, Southern Regional Science Association, Society for Risk Analysis, and American Association of Geographer. He is member of editorial board for Korean Journal of Regional Science and International Journal of Urban Sciences. He is also serving as referee for many journals.
