Biography

Graduated from the Department of Genetic and Genetic Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt (1995), holder of a Master's Degree (MSc) in "Microbiology and Biotechnology" (2000) from Agricultural Botany (Microbiology branch), Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt. I have got my PhD Degree in Agricultural Sciences, scientific field of Food Microbiology and Biotechnology from Agricultural University of Athens, Food Science and Technology Department, Lab. Food Microbiology and Biotechnology, Athens, Greece (2009). During my doctoral thesis (2004‐09), through a four-years scholarship provided by the Greek State Scholarship Foundation (IKY), whose main research interest was to study the controlling of spoilage and pathogenic bacteria associated or artificial inoculated to different meat products, the main group of bacteria (pathogenic and spoilage) in meat products under different packaging and different temperature conditions and their control using new technologies. I have conducted postdoctoral research at the Laboratory of Water and wastewater Technology, Department of Food Technology at the Institute of Education and Technology of Thessaloniki, Greece, through a 6‐month fellowship provided by the Ministry of Higher Education of Egypt (Feb. - August 2014), whose main research interest was to study the degradation of melanoidins pigment by new strains of bacteria and yeasts isolated from molasses and applied it in new bioreactor or photobioreactor which used for molasses treating. From June 2009 up to June 2014, I am serving as a Lecturer in Agricultural Microbiology at the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Egypt. From June 2014 up to June 2019 I am serving as Associate professor in Agricultural Microbiology at the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Egypt. From July 2019 up to date I am serving as professor in Agricultural Microbiology at the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Egypt I have published more than 70 articles in numerous publications in international journals and international conferences. So far, I have participated as PI and/or main researcher in 6 research projects on topics of Food and water safety. I participated as invited speaker in several international conferences. I am member of the editorial board of several Journals. I have a scientific achievement and important contribution in the field of food and water Microbiology, for example 1) detecting microbial pathogens and spoilage in food or water by microbial and molecular techniques to monitor ecological systems and final products for enhancing the removal efficiency of these microbial from food or water, 2) controlling or eliminating microbial pathogens from food and feed systems by natural products such as cationic proteins, esterified proteins and cold-pressed black cumin seed oil. These natural preservatives have several benefits and practices in the field of food such as protect consumers from contamination, preventing outbreak of foodborne and waterborne pathogens, extension the shelf-life of products and rise the economic.
