Biography

Dr. Hussein Kamel Abd El-Maksoud is now Emeritus Professor of Environmental Microbiology, Agricultural Microbiology Department, National Research Centre, Cairo, Egypt. He got the following degrees such as B.Sc. in Soil Science, M.Sc. & Ph.D. in Soil Microbiology, Diploma in “Reclamation of Saline Irrigated Sandy Soil” and Diploma in “The Microbiological Skills of Handling Rhizobium and the Laboratory, Greenhouse and field Procedure for Testing, Producing and Using Rhizobium. Dr. Abd El-Maksoud held the positions of Professor of Environmental Microbiology, Vice president of Waste Management Research Intercouncil, Vice President of Agricultural and Biological Research Division, Head of Agricultural and Biological Research Division, and Emeritus Professor of Environmental Microbiology, NRC. Dr. Abd El-Maksoud shared in many projects (Internal, Local, Regional and International), as a team work membership (20 projects), Vice Principal Investigator (4 projects) and Principal Investigator (4 projects). He is participated in many training courses in the field of Agricultural, Soil and Environmental Microbiology, teaching in many local and international symposium, meeting, seminars, workshop and conferences held in the field of agricultural, environmental and biological sciences. He is performed with many scientific missions to Morocco, Syria, Libya, Saudi Arabia, USSR and USA. He was a supervisor for 7 M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis, a membership of discussion committee for many M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees, scientific reviewer for local and international journals and a membership of many scientific committees and societies. He has published 63 scientific papers from 1973-2014 in national and international journals.
