Dr. Promise Madu Emeka graduated from University of Ibadan, Nigeria for his first degree in Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He did his postgraduate in pharmacology and graduated with MSc from the University of Lagos Nigeria where he later obtained his Doctorate in pharmacology/toxicology, having done and extensive studies in clinical aspects. His career in medical education/research dates back to April 1993 as a graduate/research assistant with the clinical toxicology unit of the department of Pharmacology, College of Medicine, University of Lagos Nigeria. He later worked as a lecturer/researcher in 2 (two) Nigerian Universities’ College of Medicine for 13 years where he was teaching Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology to medical, dental and pharmacy students before coming to the UK in 2006. When he got to the UK, he worked as a Drug Counsellor in Rehabilitation Care Centre. He trained and obtained NVQ level 4 certificates (City Guilds London) in Leadership and Management in Health Care where he became a Hospital Manager. He was all the time doing a part-time lecturing at Nottingham Trent University while doing drug counselling. I switched over to the university to lecture on pharmacology to biomedical students and research in molecular Pharmacology before coming to Saudi Arabia in September 2011. He undertook research on topical issues, contributed to national debate on issues that touch on the health of the people while in Nigeria. Currently, he is involved in teaching Pharmacology in College of Clinical Pharmacy, KFU from 2011 to date. His major research interest has been in the area of clinical pharmacological and toxicological, particular on the use of drugs, mitigating drug adverse effects and proper use of drugs and drug products. He has published some of his research findings in both national and international journals.
