Biography
Yahya Saleh Ibrahim is an Environmental Health Safety Management specialist, with focus on Environmental Protection administration, Health Insurance Policy, Occupational Hazards and Organizational Misbehavior, Environmental Management through sustainable Ecosystem, Maintenance & Rehabilitation of Ecosystem for Youth Technopreneurship through reforestation, aforestation and biomass solution. Yahya Saleh Ibrahim is recently promoted to the rank of an Associate Professor of Environmental Health and Safety Management by the Kaduna State University Appointments and Promotion Committee, effective from October, 2018. Yahya Saleh Ibrahim Was former head of Department of Environmental Sciences at Kaduna Polytechnic, former Academic Staff Union Chairman of the same institution, former Director Public Health and Laboratory Services Kaduna State Environmental Protection Authourity (KEPA), former Administrator of Giwa Local Government during the first tenure of Mal. Nasir Ahmad El-Rufa’I’s administration, former ALGON Chairman under the same government, former Director Natural Resources Management (Mineral Resources), Kaduna State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, and presently a serving Director Centre for Energy and Environmental Strategy Research (CEESR), Kaduna State University, Kaduna. Yahya Saleh Ibrahim, holds Ph.D Occupational Health and Safety Management, from University Utara Malaysia, M.Tech. Remote Sensing Application in Environment from Federal University of Technology Minna (FUT), B.Sc. Environmental Health and Safety Maryam Abacha American University Maradi Niger-Republic, B.Sc, Sociology Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Higher National Diploma in Crop Production (HND), from Federal College of Forestry Mechanization Afaka-Mando, Kaduna State, Interim Joint Matriculation Examination (IJMB) College of Advanced Studies Zaria and Government Commercial College Zaria. His Ph.D Dissertation tittled “Comparative Analysis of Nigeria and Malaysian National Healthcare Delivery System: Perspective of Safety and Health Management” part of this thesis was used for health insurance advocacy in Malaysia to encourage the Malay and other citizens to enrolled in health insurance in the country. Yahya Saleh Ibrahim was member of High Powered Committee to look into the federal government severance exercise conducted in Kaduna Polytechnic, member committee to look into the tertiary institution tax streams in Kaduna state, member committee on the development of Kaduna State investment handbook, environmental consultant to Kaduna State Commercial Agriculture project, participated actively in the 2017 oil spill mitigation and reclamation of the contaminated swampy area behind the KRPC Kaduna. Participated actively in environmental protection and prosecution of environmental polluters and defaulters in court in Kaduna state when I was in KEPA as Director public health and laboratory services. Yahya Saleh Ibrahim has twenty seven years of teaching experience (27) with intermittent public service and institutional administration experiences. In recent time I have taught a number of courses thus: Environmental Impact Assessment, Case Studies in Environmental Sciences & Management, Issues in National and Regional Planning, Entrepreneurship in Environmental Management, Environmental Hazards, Water Evaluation and Analysis, Waste Water Management, Environmental Education, Safety and Health Practices, Ergonomics, Medical Geography, Environmental Resources conflicts, Research Method among other. Currently Kaduna State Focal person of the GEF/UNDP Sustainable Fuel wood Project and Co-opted member to facilitate the take up of the proposal to start extracting oil from eucalyptus tree in Kaduna state by the Pharmaceutical institute of Nigeria. We are working to gain additional hectares for the GEF/UNDP project in the state from 3,300 to 17,000 minimum.
