Biography

Rocco Furferi is currently working as an Lecturer for the courses "mechanical drafting" and "computational graphics" since 2008 at University of Florence. He received his PhD in Machine Design and Construction in 2005 from University of Florence, Italy. He graduated with an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from University of Florence. He also worked as a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Department of Mechanics and Industrial Technologies of the University of Florence. His main scientific interests include development of artificial vision systems for industrial and textile control, artificial neural networks, colorimetry, reverse engineering and rapid prototyping. He is author and co-author of many publications printed in journals and presented on international conferences. Some latest publications described methods for color assessment of textiles, algorithms for 3D reconstruction of objects from orthographic views and ANN-based systems for industrial process.
