Biography

Dr. Alfredo Edmundo Huespe obtained his D.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Currently he is working as Researcher from Conicet, Argentina, Assistant Professor of Mechanics, Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering Faculty, National University of the Litoral, Argentina and Associate Professor, School of Civil Engineering of Barcelona (ETSECCPB), Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona, Spain. His research interest related to Computational Failure Mechanics, Fracture Mechanics, Finite Elements for Plasticity and Damage Models, Strain Localization Phenomenon, Computational Material Design. He supervised 9 doctoral thesis and 1 Masters thesis as advisor/co-advisor. He is also member of editorial board and serving as reviewer in journals. He is also member of many scientific committees. He has published in Scopus (55, h-index 17, total cites: 929) and 2 chapters in books.
