Biography
Dr. Sofiah Hamzah is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Ocean Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. She specializes in Chemical Technology, with a focus on separation technology and wastewater treatment. Dr. Hamzah holds a PhD and MSc in Chemical Technology (Separation Technology) from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, and a B.Eng in Biochemical Engineering from International Islamic University Malaysia. Beyond her impressive academic credentials, Dr. Sofiah Hamzah is a driving force in research, evident in her H-Index of 17 on Scopus and 82 Scopus-indexed publications. Her work spans critical areas such as water and wastewater treatment, microplastic removal, and innovative coagulant applications. She actively fosters industrial collaborations with entities like Venator Asia Sdn. Bhd., Syarikat Air Terengganu, Concord Group Sdn Bhd, and Ikhlas Resmi Sdn Bhd. Her international reach extends through partnerships with the University of Sharjah (UAE), Institute Technology Sepuluh November (Indonesia), and University Complutense of Madrid (Spain). Dr. Hamzah's dedication and pioneering spirit have been recognized with numerous accolades, including gold, silver, and bronze awards for her impactful projects. I currently work in Malaysia and interested to be working as ambassador for Malaysia.
