Biography
Dr. Suntoyo is currently working as Assistant Professor and Head of Ocean Engineering Department, and Internal Evaluator and Monitoring Team for Research Activities, Institute of Research and Public Services, ITS, Indonesia. He has completed his Ph.D. in Engineering from Tohoku University, Japan. His area of research interest focuses on Ocean and Coastal Structural, Pipeline Engineering and Scouring Analysis, Coastal Engineering & Management, Sediment Transport and Turbulence Flow Modeling, Tsunami and Disaster Preventions, Dredging, Reclamation and Coastal Morphological Change. In past he also appointed as Research Assistant and Post Doctoral Fellowship at Civil Engineering Department, Tohoku University, Japan, and Division Coordinator of Postgraduate Programme, Department of Ocean Engineering, ITS, Indonesia. He is professional member of Japan Society of Civil Engineers, Coastal Engineering and Management Society, Indonesia, and Indonesian Oceanography Society. He is also working on number of research projects and society services. Dr. Suntoyo received honors includes Finalist Indonesian National Best Lecturer, Best Lecturer I, ITS level, Certificate of Excellence Award for presentation and research achievements in the field of Hydraulic and Coastal Engineering, Post Doctoral Fellowship by Japan Society for Promotion of Sciences, and Research Assistant awarded by Civil Engineering Department, Tohoku University, Japan. He has published 18 research articles in refereed international journals as well as 15 papers in refereed conferences contributed as author/co-author. He also delivered 6 invited lectures.
