Biography

Dr. Christopher Marlowe Arandela Caipang is currently working as Research Scientist at Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore. He has completed his Ph.D. in Aquatic Biosciences from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, Japan. His main area of research interest focuses on Host-Pathogen Interactions in the Marine Environment/ Aquaculture, Environmental Microbiology in the Marine Ecosystem and Disease Diagnostics in Aquaculture. Dr. Christopher received honors includes Recipient of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) scholarship grant for the undergraduate degree in Fisheries, Recipient of the Japanese Government Ministry of Education (MONBUSHO) scholarship, International Publication Award 2004 and 2006, University of the Philippines System, and Marquis Who’s Who in the World 2009 Citation. Previously he was appointed as Instructor, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor at University of the Philippines Visayas. He successfully completed 8 funded research projects. He is member of many learned organizations such as National Research Council of the Philippines, Philippine Society for Microbiology (PSM), Visayas Regional, World Aquaculture Society-Asian Pacific, European Aquaculture Society, and International Society of Developmental and Comparative Immunology. He also participated in number of workshops, seminars and conferences. He has published 2 thesis, more than 87 research articles in international journals, 9 articles in national journals as well as 50 poster and oral presentations in national and international conferences contributed as author/co-author. He is also serving as member of editorial board and reviewer for number of journals.
