Biography
Ronald has more than 10 years of tertiary teaching experience. He has taught and coordinated modules at various levels. Since 2013, Ronald has been teaching modules in finance in the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of the South Pacific (USP). He teaching experience includes teaching Year 1 module on Financial Mathematics (2013-2018, 2021-current); Year 2 module on Banking Management (2017); Year 3 modules on International Finance (2019-current) and Advanced Banking Management (2017-2018), Investment and Portfolio Analysis (2020), Financial Management in the Pacific Region (2020), Financial Risk Management (2020), and post graduate module on Corporate Finance (2019). Between 2011-2013 , Ronald was a tutor in the School of Economics, tasked to tutor modules on Introduction to Macroeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics; Business Statistics, Development Economics, and Monetary Economics. In 2005, he was a part-time lecturer in School of Foundation Studies engaged in teaching mathematics for social science. Prior to joining academia, Ronald worked for a short period as Economist at the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Business Analyst at ANZ Pacific Operations, and Admin Officer at South Pacific Board for Educational Assessment. Ronald's research program adopts a cross-disciplinary approach to provide theoretical, methodological and empirical evidence on identifying contemporary sources of economic growth and development in small, developing and emerging economies across regions for effective economic management. Additionally, Ronald's research program includes the assessment of the financial institutions in small island countries in Oceania, and credit and stock markets, and term structure of interest rates in the developed countries like the G7 and others.
