Biography
Dr. Zaili Yang is currently working as Professor, and Co- Director of Maritime Transport at Liverpool John Moores University, UK. He obtained his PhD in Risk Assessment and Decision Making of Container Supply Chains from same university in 2007. His employment history includes, Sessional Lecturer, Postdoctoral Research Assistant, Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, and Reader in Maritime Transport at Liverpool John Moores University, UK. He authored and co-authored 130 technical publications. He also received research grants from external funding bodies such as EU and UK research councils, totalling around £2m (£1m as the PI). He supervised 4 post doctoral researchers, 7 visiting scholars, and 11 PhD students, 11 PhD currently in his supervision. He is also member of editorial board, in number of journals. He is also serving as reviewer and referee in number of journals. He is member of number of committees. His research area focused on several issues such as Maritime Safety Assessment, Maritime Security Modelling, Human Reliability Assessment, Risk Based Maintenance Modelling, Quantitative Quality Control, Container Supply Chain Risk Analysis, Risk Based Multiple Attribute Decision Making, Uncertainty Modelling, Port Safety Assessment, Port Performance Measurement, Port Centric Logistics, Green Logistics, Transportation Adaptation to Climate Change, Inland Waterways and Intermodal Transport. Dr. Zaili Yang received honors include Eagle Prize awarded to Outstanding Potential Young Scholars in Maritime Research, Award of NW Regional KTP of year and finalist in KTP of year at Innovation 2012, Highly Commended Paper Award, Research Award, Highly Commended Paper Award, University Promising Research Fellowship, and Stanley Gray Fellowship.
