Biography

I am a structural DNA nanotechnology expert and a nucleic acid biochemist with years of experience in applying designer DNA nanostructures to address challenges in biological and biomedical research fields.I have years of training as a biochemist in the field of structural DNA nanotechnology, working first on the molecular programming of DNA nanostructures & devices in vitro, and then on the self-assembly of these structures in vivo.To further my vision in molecular programming from synthetic DNA to the genome level in vivo,I have conducted my postdoctoral research to gain quantifications and experience in RNA-mediated genome programming and engineering in ciliate Oxytricha trifallax. My interdisciplinary background in both chemistry and biology allows me to appreciate the capability of designer DNA nanostructures to address complex biological problems, which further leads to the research interests in my own lab at RPI.
