Biography

Dr. Qingyan Yan Chen is currently working as Professor at of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, Indiana. He received his Ph.D. and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. His field of interest related to Built Environment; Energy-Efficient, Healthy, and Sustainable Buildings. He is also working as Chair and member of various ASHRAE committees/subcommittees, Editor-in-Chief of journal Building and Environment, and organizer and committee member of many conferences. Dr. Qingyan Yan received honors includes, Distinguished Service Award, IBPSA John Rydberg Gold Medal, SCANVAC, Chang Jiang Chair Professor at Ministry of Education, China, Willis J. Whitfield Award, Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology, ASHRAE Fellow and ISIAQ Fellow, Several ASHRAE paper, poster, and distinguished and exceptional service awards, and CAREER award from the U.S. National Science Foundation. He has published (7) Books or special issues of journals edited, (194) journal papers, (6) papers in book chapters, (158) papers in conference proceeding, (2) patents awarded contributed as author/co-author. He also delivered 144 invited Plenary/Keynote/Seminar Lectures. He also received funds for his 60 research projects. He also supervised 7 Post Doctoral Associate, 19 PhD students, 30 MSc and M.Eng students, and 19 visiting Scholar. Currently he is supervising 12 PhD, 6 MSc and M.Eng students and 1 visiting Scholar.
