Biography
Dr. Junhong Bai is currently a Professor in Environmental Science at School of Environment at Beijing Normal University, China. Prior to joining the University he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Ecology at the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the Northeast Institute of Geography and Agricultural Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Bais research focuses on Wetland Soil Ecology, Ecohydrological processes and effects, relations of Wetlands and Climate Change, Wetland Degradation and Ecological Restoration. In particular, he is interested in the Biogeochemistry of Carbon, Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Sulfur in Wetland Ecosystems, the impacts of Anthropogenic activities and Hydrological Engineering on Wetlands and Ecological Risk Assessment of Heavy Metals in Wetland Soils. The overarching goal of his research activities is to promote Wetland Conservation and Management. Dr. Bai has served on the editorial board of several journals. He has been the guest editor of the special issues of Clean-Soil, Air, Water and the Scientific World Journal. He is currently an Associate Editor of Wetlands journal and an editor of Journal of Soil Science and Environmental Management, International Journal of Plant and Soil Sciences and Jacobs Journal of Hydrology.
