Biography
Sharifunnessa Moonmoon was born on the 1st day of January 1981 in Miapara, Gopalgonj, Bangladesh. She is the fourth child (three brothers and two sisters) of the Md. Shahed Ali and Begum Baharunnessa. She attended primary and secondary education at Binapani Govt. Girl’s School, Gopalgonj from 1986 to 1996. In 1998, she completed her higher secondary education in Science from Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Govt. Mohila College, Gopalgonj. She obtained Bechelor of Science in Agriculture (Hons) degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mumensingh in 2003 (held in 2005) and Master of Science in Biotechnology in December, 2006 from the same University. In November 2009, the Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU), Sylhet employed her as a Lecturer in the Department of Crop Botany and Tea Production Technology and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2011. So far she published 20 scientific articles in various national and international journals. In 2007, she was married to Dr. Md. Saiful Islam Siddiqui and is blessed with two daughters, Mumtaha Ashfi and Muntaha Arisha. She is member of different professional societies including Krishibid Institution, Seed Science Society of Bangladesh and Fruit Science Society of Bangladesh. The author also attended two international and four national scientific conference/seminars, around 10 training programme on quality education, International Rover scout mode in India.
