Biography

Dr. Mashud Karim is currently working as Professor in Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He obtained his PhD in Engineering from Yokohama National University in 2001. His academic responsibility includes, Provost, Sher E Bangla Hall (Student Hostel), BUET. He is professional member of Association of Naval Architect and Marine Engineers, National Oceanographic and Maritime Institute, and Japanese University Alumni Association of Bangladesh. Dr. Mashud Karim received honors, Monbusho Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, Japan, Follow-up Research Fellowship for 2012 awarded by Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) under Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, Japan. His research interest focused on Computational Ship Geometry, Hydrodynamics, Resistance, Propulsion & Stability of Ship, Cavitation on Hydrofoil and Propeller Blade, Design Optimization, B-Spline, NURBS etc, Boundary Element Method, Surface Panel Method or Lifting Body Theory, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Genetic Algorithm/Evolutionary Algorithm etc. He is editor in Journal of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He is Co-chairman of International Conference on Marine Technology. He is also serving as reviewer in number of journals. He has published 26 research articles in journals as well as 20 conference proceedings contributed as author/co-author.
