Biography
Dr. Dinesh Bhatia is currently working as Associate Professor & Head in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Coordinator for Career & Counseling Cell at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Govt. of India Shillong, Meghalaya, India. He has completed his PhD. in Biomechanics & Rehabilitation from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad, India, and Post Doctorate Fellow in Biomechanics from University of Glasgow, UK. Previously he was appointed as Lecturer and In charge at P.D.M College of Engineering, Bahadurgarh (Haryana), India, Lecturer and Assistant Professor at D.C.R. University of Science and Technology, Murthal, Haryana (Govt. of Haryana), India, Research Assistant Professor at Florida International University, Miami, Florida, USA, and Honorary Research Fellow at University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK. He has completed 3 funded research projects, and currently working on 4 research projects. He supervised 2 PhD, 13 M.Tech, and 32 B.Tech final year projects. He is also serving as member of editorial board and reviewer for number of committees and conferences. He also delivered number of invited presentation in various scientific meeting. He is member of various committees, societies and associations such as Coordinator for Local Chapter, Eastern Region, Indian Society of Biomechanics, Invited member Research Advisory Committee (RAC) for PhD program at NIT, Jalandhar, life member of Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata, Society of Biomaterials and Artificial Organs, Biomedical Engineering Society of India, Indian Society for Technical Education, Indian Society of Biomechanics, Institution of Engineers, India and member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Biomedical Engineering Society, American Society of Biomechanics (ASB), Colorado, USA, and MS society TSEC. He has published 1 book, 31 research articles in journals as well as 76 papers in conferences contributed as author/co-author. Dr. Dinesh received honors includes selected among 75 awardees for Boyscast Fellowship, Best Paper Award, and selected among 12 awardees for the prestigious Young Biomedical Scientist award by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) fellowship in 2014 awarded by Government of India to pursue research at University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK. His main area of interest focuses on Biomedical Instrumentation, Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Medical Imaging and Image Processing, Marketing, Human Resource, Medical Informatics and Telemedicine, Biomedical Signal Processing, Biomaterials and Artificial Organs, International Business, and Information Technology.
