Biography

Dr. Jagdish Chandra Joshi is currently working as Postdoctoral Research Associate in Department of Pharmacology, University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. He has completed his PhD in Medical Pharmacology from the Department of Pharmacology, Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, Delhi. Dr. Jagdish goal oriented experimental pharmacologist with a focus on Respiratory Pharmacology, neurobehavioral Pharmacology, endocrine, metabolic and immunological disorders. He has strong background in in-vivo models for screening of new chemical entities with knowledge of new drug discovery. He has experienced in lab animal handling, microsurgery and animal dosing with in-depth understanding of animal models for stress, anxiety, behavioral depression, epilepsy, diabetes, pain, inflammation disorders, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases etc. He participated in 4 research projects. He has guided 2 students of B. Pharm, 12 students of various stream viz. M. Tech (Biotech), B. Tech (Biotech.), BSc (Biomedical Sciences) and MSc (Biochemistry) student for their project during PhD work. Previously he was appointed as Visiting Lecturer in Pharmacology in Department of Physiotherapy in Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India, Lecturer in Pharmacology, in Dr. K.N Modi Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Modinagar, Ghaziabad, India and Assistant Professor at Dev Bhoomi College of Pharmacy, Dehradun, India. He is life member of Indian Pharmacological Society, and Indian Hospital Pharmacist association, India, and Registered Pharmacist at Uttarakhand Pharmacy Council, Dehradun, India. He has published 2 book chapters, 8 research articles in national and international journals, and 7 abstracts contributed as author/co-author. He also participated in number scientific meeting.
