Biography
Dr. Saravanan Durai is currently holds a position of Scientist at Sathyabama University, India. He has completed his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, India. Previously he was appointed as Assistant Professor at Sri Sankara Arts & Science College, Processing Technician at Life Cell (Stem cell Company), Chennai, and Technical Editor at Charon Tec Private Limited. His area of expertise includes Isolation, characterization and identification of bacteria and fungus from various less explored Ecosystems, Production of bioactive compounds, pigments and enzymes from bacteria and fungus by Submerged and Solid state fermentation, Extraction & purification of bioactive compounds, pigments and enzymes from microbes, and Production of Bioactive compounds in laboratory fermentor. He also served as resource person and guest lecturer in various workshops. He has guided 21 MSc projects. Dr. Saravanan has 16 publications in journals contributed as author/co-author. Dr. Saravanan is life member of Indian Association of Applied Microbiologists. He is also serving as member of editorial board for International Archives of Integrated Medicine and reviewer for Journal of Applied Pharmaceutical Science.
