Biography

Mr. Jitendra Sharma is currently working as a District Epidemiologist at Office of the Joint Director of Health Services, Lakhimpur, Assam. He obtained his PhD in Biotechnology from Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh, Assam, India. He also worked as Laboratory Technician in the Division of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Research Assistant in the Division of Entomology and Filariasis of the Regional Medical Research Centre (ICMR), Dibrugarh, Assam and carried out research on Baseline studies on prevalence of Anemia and Associating determinant among Adolescent Girl students of Assam and Aetiology of Acute Encephalitis Cases in India and establishment of ICMR sample bank-a multisite Perspective Initiative. His area of expertise includes Public Health, Epidemiology, Surveillance & Response, Outbreak investigation of Communicable and Non Communicable Diseases and control Operational Research, Health Journalism, Malariology, Japanese Encephalitis, Dengue and other Vector Borne Diseases, Malaria Drug related matters, Monitoring, Evaluation, Strategy formulation and Disease Control, Information Education & Communication, Legal aspect in Health, and Data Collection, Compilation, Analysis, Interpretation and Tabulation Communicable and Non Communicable Diseases. He has published more than 19 research papers in journals, 1 book, and 11 abstracts as author/co-author. He is also serving as reviewer for many international journals. He is executive editor at Global Journal of Research and Review, and member of editor board International Journal of Applied Science, and International Journal of Research & Review. He is general member of Assam Science Society.
