Biography
Dr. Nishant Rai is currently working as Associate Professor in Department of Biotechnology Graphic Era University, Dehradun, (UK), India. He has research experience of more than four years and post doc teaching experience of nine years. He has received the Bachelor of Science degree from MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly in 1998. He received M.Sc. (Microbiology) and PhD (Microbiology) degrees from Gurukula Kangri University, Hardwar in 2000 and 2004 respectively. He was gold Medalist in M.Sc. He worked in the area of r-DNA Vaccine Development as Research Associate under NATP TOE VVT project at IVRI for more than four years. He has published 36 National and International research papers, 12 GenBank submissions and 05 book chapters. He is Chief Editor of Biotechnology International Journal. He is life member of Indian Virological Society (IVS), Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI), Biotech Society (BTS). He has taught several courses including B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. Medical Microbiology, B.Sc. Medical lab Technology, B.Tech Biotechnology, M.Sc. Microbiology, M.Sc. Biotechnology etc. and PhD courses. He is supervising eight Ph.D. students and guided more than fifteen dissertation/project students. He has attended 24 seminars/conferences/symposia and four training courses. He has also organized four workshop/training courses. He is working on USBD sponsored research project entitled To Develop Novel Monoclonal Antibody against a Specific Membrane Protein of Salmonella Species.
