Biography
Dr. Arvind Singh Tomar received his PhD degree in Irrigation & Drainage Engineering in 2010 at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Udham Singh Nagar India. He is currently working as Assistant Professor at same department and university. His prior work experience includes Research Associate at Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya College of Agriculture, Indore and Manager-in-charge and Project Engineer of Centrally located Technical Services Department of Irrigation Systems Division of erstwhile M/s EPC Irrigation Limited at Nasik. He has 18 years hands-on experience on Agricultural Climatology, Artificial Neural Network, Automation of Irrigation Systems, Decision Support System, Geographical Information System, Irrigation Water Management, Microirrigation, Natural Resource Management, Remote Sensing, and Web-enabled Agricultural Spatial Decision Support Systems. He was honoured by different Awards and Recognitions including Young Scientist Award in discipline of “Agriculture Sciences” in 2003. He was also affiliated with number of Professional Societies. He is serving in 8 journals as Editorial / Reviewer Board of Journals / Extension Magazines of Repute. He also participated in extra Academic and Administrative assignments. He attended number of conferences/Conventions/Seminars/Symposiums/ Workshops/Training programs and delivered Invited Lectures. He published (44) refereed scientific research papers nationally and internationally, (36) in workshop/conference/ symposia/ seminar research papers, (39) as popular articles/extension literature, (3) dissertation/thesis and (1) laboratory manual in 2007 on Fluid Transport Machinery & Hydraulic Control.
