Biography
Dr. Pravin Chandra Trivedi is currently working as Former Vice Chancellor at DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University, Faizabad. He obtained his Ph.D. in Botany from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India in 1978 and worked as Postdoctoral Fellow at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, U.S.A. He is having 40 years teaching experience. He is President of Mendelean Society of India. He is passionately involved in research and has guided 40 PhD students. He has published 268 research articles in journals, 50 popular science articles, 47 books, and edited 90 books contributed as author/co-author. He also invited to deliver lectures at more than a dozen international conferences. Dr. Pravin Chandra received number national and international awards and honors. He organized more than 22 seminars and symposium at national level. He also served as Coordinator of 6 refresher courses for College and University teachers and acted as Resource Person in many refresher courses. He is serving as member of editor board in number of journals. He has delivered over 300 extension lectures on general topics and research at various local and regional forums. He also worked on several projects as Principal Investigator funded from different agencies. He is life member of 12 scientific societies and annual member of 2 international scientific bodies, and former member of Course committee of Biotechnology. His current area of interest related to Managing Plant Parasitic Nematodes using Biocontrol Agents, Ethno botanical Study, Biotechnology Tools in Plant Pathology, and Medicinal Plants. He also attended several conferences.
