Dr. Venugopal P. Menon is currently working as Former Professor & Head, Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology, Former Dean (Faculty of Science), Former Director of Research at Annamalai University, AnnamalaiNagar, Chidambaram, TamilNadu, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from University of Kerala, India in 1976. His area of interest focuses on Dietary Factors in Health and Diseases, Role of Different Spices in Hepatic Fibrosis and Colon Cancer, Micronutrient Interventions in Humans, Connective Tissue Metabolism in Health and Diseases, Role of Medicinal Plants their Active Principles and Analogues in Health and Diseases, and Role of Active Principles and Synthetic Analogues as Radioprotectors. He is having 36 years of Post Doctoral experience, and teaching experience. He successfully guided 27 PhD students, and 15 M.Phil students. He is member of 13 professional societies. He is also serving as reviewer for several journals. He also completed 5 national and international projects funded by different agencies. He also delivered 92 guest lectures. He also presented 102 papers at national and international conferences. He has published 222 research articles in journals contributed as author/co-author.
