Biography

Dr. Mudassir Asrar is currently working as Professor at Atta-Ur-Rehman School of Applied Biological Sciences, National University of Science and Technology, NUST, Islamabad and Visiting Professor at University of Balochistan and University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences, Quetta. She has completed her Postdoctoral Fellow in Biology from Fulbright, USA. She is having 35 years experience in teaching, research and administration. She is Chairperson of Pakistan Council for Science and Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan. She has published 82 research articles in journals as well as 5 books contributed as author/co-author. She has supervised 1 Post Doctorate, 4 PhD, 20 M.Phil and 60 MSc thesis. She also leads 10 research projects as Principal Investigator. Dr. Mudassir received honors includes Fellow of Linnaean Society, London, Fulbright USA Post doctoral Award, Alexander von Humboldt Award, Star Performer award, University of Balochistan, Star Women of Pakistan in Education, Award on Educational services in Balochistan by Rotary Club Quetta, and Director of Economic Botany section, Botanical Society of America, USA. She is member of editorial board in 12 journals and served as editor in chief for Research Journal University of Balochistan, Quetta, Pakistan and Science, Technology and Development, Pakistan Council for Science and Technology. She also presented 25 papers in prestigious science conferences in USA, UK and other countries, and delivered 36 presentations as Guest speaker/country representative at United nations organizations, Ministry of Science, Universities, Policy Research Institutes, Botanical Gardens, Churches, Fulbright program etc in the USA, UK, Malaysia, Philippine, Morocco, Egypt, Oman. She is member of many technical professional and social societies such as corresponding life member of Botanical Society of America, USA, Botanical Society of Pakistan, Chemical Society of Pakistan, and member of American Society for Microbiology, USA, International Committee of Botanical Society of America, Horticulture Society of Pakistan, member of Technical committee IUCN, and Vice President of Pak Anjuman-e-Khawateen-e-Islam. She also attended number of national and international conferences and workshops.
