Biography

Microbiologist by profession since 1999. Has served in Various Military Hospitals as consultant pathologist & microbiologist. Has been involved in diagnostic microbiology in AFIP Rawalpindi from 2009-2013. Approved supervisor for imparting Fellowship training leading to FCPS by College of Physicians & surgeons Pakistan and M.Phil by University of Health sciences Lahore. Has also taught Microbiology to undergraduate students at Army Medical College Rawalpindi ( NUST) from 1997-1999 & again from 2009-2013.Has special interest in Antimicrobial resistance & Multidrug resistant Tuberculosis. Lately my interest has revolved around Carbapenem resistant enterobacteriacea and has participated in collaborative work with Freeman Hospital Newcastle upon Tyne. Supervised the research projects of more than dozen postgraduate students at AFIP from 2009-2013 and have more than 50 publications in peer reviewed journals.Has served with United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone as Microbiologist from 2003-04 and been actively involved with Lassa fever cases prevalent in that area. Have attended number of national & international workshops related to biosafety and has represented Pakistan in US Pakistan Bioengagement workshop in Cairo in 2010 and Medical Biodefence Conference in Munich Germany in Oct 2013. Completed Ph.D from Baqai Medical University Karachi in 2015 . Received Fellowship from Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in November 2015. Undertaking MCPS , Health professional education with CPSP in session 2014-16.
